Buy Integrated Relationship Continuum Scale Paper
The purpose of this paper was to develop a new scale titled Integrated Relationship Continuum Scale (IRCS). It is intended to measure a bipolar continuum of marital quality taking functional and dysfunctional aspects of previous constructs associated with the measure of marital quality. The themes that have integrated into this measure include constructs of consensus, personal worth, time together, communication, conflict resolution, intimacy, emotional support and overall satisfaction. These constructs have been scaled to capture a diverse set of responses, thereby allowing participants to choose responses that better reflect themselves. The responses are not limited to dysfunctional aspects, but rather a complete spectrum of dysfunctional and functional aspects.
Researchers on interpersonal relationships rely on the use of descriptive taxonomies to clarify and understand such relations. The development of any new taxonomy is a difficult process and requires time and devotion to complete. Some taxonomies have strong descriptions to clarify its members, while others are not as strong. Weak descriptors lower the likelihood of being able to draw distinctions among different relationship types. Classifying descriptive entities (good or bad) has allowed relationship research to be employed and conducted. Most research is done to refine or elaborate these descriptive entities and thereby to forming new classifications to help gain a better understanding of relationships. For any taxonomy, the descriptions that create it should reflect differences between the kinds of things characteristics that they are supposed to classify as well as the kinds of characteristics they do not classify. A valuable classification should identify categories that are distinct, in which these categories have descriptive entities that can be used to differentiate between category members and non-members (Haslam, 1999).
Family is thought to be the most important structure unit with regards to the development and the maintenance of the physical, social and the psychological health of any particular society (Demir & Fisiloglu, 2000). One can consider that the marital relationship is the basic structural component of the family (Kazak, Jarmas, and Snitzer, 1988). Thus, marriage and couple relationships are key areas of interest for researchers evaluating relationships (Fowers & Olson, 1993). The couple relationship is a crucial part of the system. Most methods assessing the marital and/or couple relationships rely on self-report measures (Kazak et al. 1988).
Topics for research papers may be very difficult. Luckily, there is our paper writing service to assist with any of them.
